Over a decade of sampling, measurement and cross-dating
activities by a dozen
dedicated field and laboratory workers
have produced a unique national collection
of ring-width data
from living Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.).
They have also
pioneered lake-bottom (subfossil) sampling in southern Finlandand built nearly 1750-year pine chronology for the
south-eastern region.
The map below shows the main sampling
sites.
